How it works: Suppresses intestinal motility and secretion.

Which symptoms does it help: Diarrhea.

How long it takes to see a benefit: As fast as 1 hour.

FDA approved: N/A

Dosage: 2-4 mg, not to exceed 16 mg per day.

Special considerations or risks: Care with mixed IBS. Avoid in IBS-C.

Most common side effects: Constipation, dizziness.

Recommendation: Only useful for diarrhea. Cannot recommend for overall IBS symptoms.
